Receptive Consciousness Framework

I’ve been a student of mediumship for over twelve years now, and think student id the right term to describe what I think we all are, we’re students of something.

Learning how to do something is one thing, but I have always had a deep desire to understand the how and why of something too, and this has led me to develop the Receptive Consciousness Framework, which is a doctoral research study to look deeply into the processes and biology of mediumship, consciousness and anomalous data.

Science doesn’t have to be the enemy of what we as mediums do, in fact it can be a way of using real datasets to understand, quantify and promote understanding to those with a wish to learn. My wish is that I don’t miss the opportunity to build bridges, when there are incredibly talented mediums and scientists, that are looking for ways of gaining insight into each others worlds, and who knows where that might lead us, but don’t we have an obligation to try?

The Science of Connection: The Receptive Consciousness Framework

Is the brain a generator of consciousness, or is it a receiver?

For years, my work as a medium and tutor has focused on the practice of connection. But as I worked with thousands of students, I began to ask a deeper question: What is actually happening in the brain when we connect?

Why is the signal clear one moment and fuzzy the next? Is it random, or is there a biological mechanism we can measure?

My research suggests it is not random. It is a predictable, testable biological state.

The Theory: The Brain as a "Reducing Valve"

I have developed the Receptive Consciousness Framework (RCF) to bridge the gap between subjective spiritual experience and objective neuroscience.

Current materialist science suggests the brain creates consciousness the way a generator creates electricity. My framework proposes that the brain acts more like a radio receiver.

The information (or "Signal") is non-local and always present—consistent with the "Block Universe" model of physics. The reason we don't perceive it all the time is not because the signal is weak, but because our biological "noise" is too loud.

The Mechanism: Signal vs. Noise

The core of my research operationalizes mediumship as a Signal-to-Noise Ratio problem. To receive a clear non-local signal, we must reduce two specific types of biological interference:

1. Logical Interference (The Default Mode Network) The Default Mode Network (DMN) is the part of the brain responsible for your "Ego," your internal narrator, and your sense of linear time. It is the voice that says, "This isn't logical" or "What am I doing later?"

  • My Hypothesis: When the DMN is overactive, it acts as a "Logical Veto," blocking the subtle non-local signal.

2. Emotional Interference (Heart Rate Variability) Our emotional state creates physiological noise. When we are stressed or anxious, our heart rhythm becomes incoherent.

  • My Hypothesis: This creates "Emotional Static." Even if the brain is quiet, a chaotic heart rhythm can scramble the signal.

The Goal: From Mystery to Measurement

The RCF proposes that "Psi misses" (when a reading goes wrong) are not failures of the Spirit World. They are simply failures of the Receiver's tuning.

By using modern technology—such as EEG to measure brainwaves and Biofeedback to measure heart coherence—we can test this theory. My goal is to move the field of parapsychology forward, proving that accurate intuition isn't magic; it is a mastery of one's own physiology.

My theoretical paper, The Receptive Consciousness Framework (v1.1), is now available as a peer-reviewed preprint. It details the physics of time, the neurobiology of the DMN, and the proposed experimental protocols.
